It’s Tuesday, so I’m back with another Top Ten Tuesday, courtesy of Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week we’re talking Colourful Book Covers. I wasn’t sure which way to go with this, whether to go with covers that just have one or two colours but are very bright, or ones that had a lot of colours, so I decided to go with a mix of the two. Here we go:
- The Girl From Everywhere-Heidi Heilig
2. Phoenix Flame-Sara Holland
This is my current read, and whilst I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m thrilled with the book (I find the main character kind of bland), I do think this cover is lovely and definitely very colourful. I also love the contrast between this book’s cover and Havenfall, where this book has very hot colours and Havenfall is definitely more cool colours.
3. Hero At The Fall-Alwyn Hamilton
This book may have been my least favourite of the trilogy, but the cover certainly is gorgeous. I love the flames around the side and the brightness of the orange background definitely encapsulates the desert setting of this trilogy really, really well. This is another series where I think the UK covers are much nicer than the US, the US covers have stock images of people, whereas the UK covers are these more vibrant, with the foiling on the the flames and the pretty typography.
4. Seventh Heaven-Meg Cabot
5. The Priory of The Orange Tree-Samantha Shannon
6. The Exact Opposite of Okay-Laura Steven
7. For A Muse of Fire-Heidi Heilig
8. Daughter of the Burning City-Amanda Foody
9. Under Rose Tainted Skies-Louise Gornall
This one is fairly minimalist cover, so might not be the most obvious choice for a colourful cover topic but the pink is so bright and vibrant, I couldn’t not include it! The UK publisher did three different shades of pink cover, there was a light pink one (which I think is the one I have), a medium pink one and then this incredibly bright one which I thought was really cool.
10. Call Down The Hawk-Maggie Stiefvater
So there we go, those are my colourful book covers! Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Which one of these is your favourite cover? Let me know in the comments!
I’ll be back with another Top Ten Tuesday next week, the topic is meant to be Animals From Books but I already did that one back in 2017 and I prefer not to repeat topics if I can help it, and this topic inspired me with an idea for another topic, so instead, I’m going to be talking US vs UK covers. I know a third cover topic in a row is a lot, but what can I say? I’m on a roll!
Daughter of the Burning City, Under Rose Tainted Sky and Call down the Hawk are the covers that I like the most!
They are all definitely striking covers π
Honestly, I love all of these covers!

Thanks!
I’ve never seen that version of the princess diaries but it’s SO cute! Great list π
Thank you! It’s one of the UK covers π
Iβm about to read Phoenix Flame and thatβs good to know that it probably doesnβt get better from book 1. Great cover selections though!
Yeah, I really wanted it to, but sadly, a flat main character is a flat main character. Thank you!
It’s sad when we like a book’s cover better than the book itself! This week’s topic has been good for me in forcing me to pay attention to all the gorgeous book covers people are sharing. So much effort goes into a book’s cover design and I barely notice it. (Purple is my favorite color, too!)
It really is, for some reason it’s so much more disappointing when a book with a pretty cover turns out to be not great. Yes, cover designers really are incredibly talented people π
Priory was such a great choice! So bright!
I don’t think I’ve seen that version of Princess Diaries (haven’t ever read them either), but golly, that IS a brightly colorful cover. π Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland – and hope you have a great week.
It’s one of the UK series covers. Ah thank you π
“Priory of the Orange Trees” has been on my TBR for so long, I really need to get with it! I’ve seen “The Exact Opposite of Okay” on a couple lists today, I think I’m going to have to add it my TBR as well!
I hope you enjoy Priory when you read it. Oh definitely do, it’s so good!
These all look so beautiful and vibrant! I love the cover for The Exact Opposite of Okay the most.
It is definitely a standout!
Oh these are all so pretty! I love the cover of Priory too, it’s been sitting on my TBR for ages and I need to just stop procrastinating and read it!
I agree! I hope you enjoy Priory when you do read it π
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that Princess Diaries cover. It’s so vibrant and youthful.
It’s one of the UK covers, they had very bright colours for the whole series π
I’ve never seen that particular cover for The Princess Diaries. It’s gorgeous!
It’s one of the UK ones!
Phoenix Flame is stunning!
It is! I wish I’d been able to get into it more.
Pretty, pretty! I especially love the one for HERO AT THE FALL.
Happy TTT!

Thank you! That whole trilogy has really gorgeous covers.
Those Princess Diaries covers were so bright! Good luck with the job application π
Thank you!
I love the cover of Priory. And I want to read Under Rose Tainted Skies. I’ve heard it’s great. It has a lovely cover too.
Priory is so gorgeous. Rose is definitely one of the best mental health YA books I’ve ever read, highly recommend it.
I love everything about the cover of The Girl From Everywhere. I’ve never seen that one before.
It’s the UK cover!
These are all so gorgeous. I’ve always loved the one for The Priory of the Orange Tree.
Yes, the cover designer for that one did a really good job.
Love the cover for The Exact Opposite of Okay – that just has color exploding everywhere! These are all gorgeous covers though – thanks for sharing!
Yes, they certainly went all in on the colours for that one. No problem π
I love your choices! My favorites are Phoenix Flame and Hero at the Fall, both so pretty:-)
Thank you! Yes, they are both very striking π
OMG I forgot how colourful The Princess Diaries covers are!!!
They are, pretty much all of them would have been perfect for this week’s topic!
These covers all do their job…I want to go out and buy all of these!
Excellent!
Great choices and pretty cpvers!
Thank you π
I absolutely love your cover choices! They’re gorgeous. I’d never seen the cover for The Girl From Everywhere, but oh my gosh, I love it so much! I never saw that cover for Hero at the Fall, either. I’m more than a little jealous. I agree that it seems like the UK are getting the better book covers lately, and I feel cheated! *pouts*
Thank you! It’s the UK cover, they’re a bit more colourful than the US ones, the sequel, The Ship Beyond Time is green. I am slightly biased being a UK reader, but I do agree that UK covers have been great in the past few years.
Priory has the most beautiful cover π Thanks for visiting my TTT!
It really does! No problem π
I love your choices this week! The cover for The Girl From Everywhere is downright gorgeous.
Thank you! I agree π
You did an awesome job! So many great cover choices!!
Thanks!
Gorgeous covers!! I must say I havenβt read any of these yet.
I enjoyed most of them!
