Hi everyone! I’veΒ been doing NaNoWriMo for the last week and it’s been going well, though I have hit a sticking point with my story, I’m hoping after a break to refresh yesterday, I might be able to look at my story with new eyes today! Anyway, enough about my writing exploits, as usual, I have another Top Ten Tuesday post for you guys this week, courtesy of the lovely ladies over at The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic is all about our TBRs, specifically the books that we have recently added to them. So these are the books I have added to my TBR recently (I’m only going to include books that have both titles and release dates, since otherwise my list would be entirely unreleased, unnamed Sarah J Maas books!):
- The Ship of The Dead (Magnus Chase #3)-Rick Riordan-Added 22nd October
I’ve almost finished the second book right now and I’m really excited to see where these characters go next!
2. A Shadow Bright and Burning-Jess Cluess-Added 10th October
I heard a lot of good things about this book back when it was released, and I’m always looking for exciting new fantasies to read, so I added it to my TBR.
3. The Pearl Thief-Elizabeth Wein-Added 22nd September
I added this to my TBR as soon as the news of it’s release was announced. It’s a prequel to Code Name Verity, one of the best books that I’ve read this year, so I can’t wait to read it when it’s released!
4. The Graces-Laure Eve-Added 14th September
I bought this one a few months ago, because I love witches and this book just sounded so cool!
5. A Conjuring of Light-VE Schwab-Added 24th August
I added this before I even finished A Gathering Of Shadows because I was so excited for the ending of this series. I need this one right now because that cliffhanger ending was just evil!
6. The Archived-VE Schwab-Added 28th July 2016
I basically added all of Victoria Schwab’s books to my TBR after finishing ADSOM, I loved it that much!
7. The Dark Prophecy (Trials of Apollo #2)-Rick Riordan
I loved the first book in Rick Riordan’s new Apollo based series, so I can’t wait for the next one to be released next year, and added it before I had even read the 1st one (because anything Rick Riordan writes is immediately added to my TBR).
8. Frostblood-Elly Blake-Added 26th August
I added this one because it sounded incredible and there seemed to be a lot of buzz around it, plus the cover is so beautiful.
9. A Shiver of Snow and Sky-Lisa Lueddecke-Added 15th October
I added this book because I follow the author on Twitter and it actually sounded really good!
10. Children of Icarus-Caighlan Smith-Added 4th September
I added this because I am a total sucker for anything Greek mythology related!
That’s it for this week! Have you read/have any of these on my TBR? Would you like to rad any of them? Let me know in the comments. Next week’s topic is a movie freebie which I’m really excited for as I love movies almost as much as I love books, so I’m going to be sharing my Top Ten (will probably be more) All Time Favourite Movies, but in the meantime, I will hopefully have a new discussion post for you guys this week so stay tuned for that!
I haven’t read any of these yet but I’d like to read a V E Schwab book at some point.
You definitely should π
I am not familiar with any of these books. Is the Rick Riordan about Norse mythology? I’m definitely with you about cliffhangers and series enders. I just finished A Torch Against the Night and I can’t wait for the third in the series. My TTT if you’re interested.
Yes, the first one is. Ugh, yes I know! I both love and hate them. I will definitely check out your TTT π
I also added all of Victoria Schwab’s books to my TBR pile, haha! I’m so excited for A Conjuring of Light, especially following the last one in the series. A Shadow Bright and Burning is on my TBR as well, even though it’s taking me some time to drum up the motivation to check it out from the library. If only there was more time in the day for reading!
My TTT
She’s such a great author! Me too, February seems far too long away. Yeah I haven’t had the motivation to buy it yet, I’m waiting for it to be a little less expensive! Oh how I wish π
I’m also a sucker for anything related to Greek mythology, so I’m definitely looking up Children of Icarus. Great list! π
Thanks! Hope we both enjoy Children of Icarus!
I keep seeing the Graces all over Instagram, but I had to move it to my maybe list after a few trusted reviewers gave it unfavorable ratings. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks!
I haven’t read any of these books or series yet, but I’m definitely wanting to start Magnus Chase soon. π Great list!
You should, Magnus Chase is a great series. Thanks π
I also have A Shadow Bright and Burning on my TBR and, like, every Victoria Schwab book. I haven’t read any of her books yet, lol. Whoops. Great list! I haven’t heard of a lot of these.
Oh you should, Victoria Schwab’s books (the ones I’ve read anyway) are great. Shadow Bright and Burning sounds awesome right. Thanks π
I haven’t read any of the Schwab books, but I’ve heard they are great. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
Yes they are, you should give them a try π Thanks!
A Shadow Bright and Burning and Frostblood are on my TBR as well! I haven’t read Magnus Chase yet, but I really want to! Everyone seems to love it. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. π
Great minds think alike. Oh you should, it’s great π No problem!
Great picks for this week. I have so many of these on my to-read list as well, and I cannot even begin to say how excited I am for A Conjuring of Light to be released! π
Thanks π Great minds clearly think alike. Oh me either, February cannot come soon enough!
At least it’s not too long to go now! π
At least!
I need to catch up on my Rick Riordan list!
Yes you do!
I’m actually not generally a Schwab fan, but I β€ The Archived and The Unbound. There's also a short story that tells part of The Unbound from a different POV: https://veschwab.wordpress.com/2015/01/06/leave-the-window-open-a-wesley-ayers-story/
I really hope she actually writes The Returned!
Well I’m glad to hear you liked The Archived anyway, even if you don’t love her other books. Yes I hope so too, if I only so I don’t have to read a series that I know isn’t finished!
I didn’t mean to disparage Schwab – she’s a brilliant writer, just not quite “my thing”. The Archived series, however, just *really* works for me. βΊοΈ
Oh I didn’t mean it like that! Obviously we all have authors who aren’t quite for us π That’s great to hear, hopefully it will work for me too.
Oooh, some of these definitely sound really exciting. That’s great that Elizabeth Wein is writing more! I’ve yet to read Code Name Verity (it’s on my list and I’m hoping to read it soon) but it seems that the world and his wife love her so I might just have to grab myself a copy of it! Great list π
It’s incredible, I hope you enjoy it! Thanks π
I discovered V.E. Schwab this year after reading A Darker Shade of Magic, so obviously I added every book she’s ever written or will write to my TBR. I still have to read A Gathering of Shadows… I’m hoping to get to it next month!
Same here! Oh A Gathering of Shadows is great, I hope you enjoy it π
V.E. Schwab is quickly becoming one of my favorites!
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier. π
Same here! No problem π
I’ve seen A Shadow Bright and Burning around quite a lot recently, it sounds like a great read.
I loved A Darker Shade of Magic and really want to read the other books in that series.
The Graces looks good too.
Hope you enjoy your reads π
Yeah it seemed to be a popular choice this week. Hope you enjoy the rest of the Shades of Magic books. It does doesn’t it? Thanks π
A shadow bright and burning and Trials of Apollo are on my TBR! Hope to read them soon π Great list! and thanks for visiting π
That’s great, hope you enjoy them! Thank you. No problem π
Great list! I haven’t heard of some of these, but I bet they’ll be awesome reads. I really want to get into Schwab’s books! I love Rick Riordan. I still need to read his new books though!
Thanks! Well, I hope so. You should, they’re so good (well the ones I’ve read have been anyway!). Yes, me too, he’s one of my favourite authors. I hope you get around to his new books soon π
I love Rick Riordan and V.E./Victoria Schwab. And I recently read A Shadow Bright and Burning, which I really liked. Even if it wasn’t the most original book. I hope you get to read some of these soon. Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by my TTT earlier. π
Me too! Oh I’m glad to hear that, hopefully I’ll like it too. Thanks! No problem π
I understand about the TBR that would be comprised of all Sarah J. Maas books π I’m also super excited about A Shadow Bright and Burning and Frostblood. And of course VE Schwab, I’m slowly going through her books at the moment and I’m loving them π
Hi! I’ve heard good things about V.E. Schwab. I’m going to have to take a look at some of her books π
Thanks for stopping by!
Leslie
A lot of reviews say that A Shadow Bright and Burning is very much a dupe of City of Bones, and The Graces is another Twilight. But I hope you will enjoy the books!
