Hi all! I hope you’ve all had a good past week, mine has been relatively quiet, mostly just doing Uni stuff, though I do have the welcome drinks for my Uni’s Equestrian Club on Thursday, which is our first social of the year and should be super fun and a chance to meet all our new members.
Anyway, I’m back today with a new Top Ten Tuesday, courtesy of Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. Today we’re talking about Books From Our Favourite Authors We Haven’t Read Yet. This topic has me feeling slightly judged because there are more books than I’m proud of by my favourite authors that I haven’t read, but hey, I’ll get to them eventually! Here we go, books by my favourite authors that I haven’t read:
- Wonder Woman: Warbringer-Leigh Bardugo
I only discovered Leigh Bardugo’s books last year, and I’ve only read the Six of Crows duology and the first Grisha book, so safe to say, I have a lot to catch up on! Wonder Woman is one of my TBR challenge books this year so I will definitely be getting to it before the end of the year and I’m super excited because I loved the Wonder Woman movie.
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: Siege and Storm, Ruin and Rising,
2. Chasing The Stars-Malorie Blackman
I loved Malorie Blackman’s books when I was younger, Noughts and Crosses was the first YA book that I ever read, so I jumped on her latest release when it came out, since I found a signed first edition, but I haven’t really been feeling in a space mood, so I haven’t read it. Hopefully soon!
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: HA HA HA SO MANY. Malorie Blackman has too massive a back catalogue to list here, but rest assured I haven’t read most of them.
3. Thunderhead-Neal Shusterman
So I read the first book in this series Scythe last year, and really enjoyed it, so naturally I got the sequel, but I just haven’t got around to reading it yet. Honestly, it will probably end up being a next summer read as it’s over 500 pages and I tend to avoid those during term time!
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: Skinjacker Series, Ansty Bonano series, Bruiser and many others, again Neal Shusterman has a massive back catalogue!
4. A Court of Wings and Ruin-Sarah J Maas
I know, I know, I’m judging me a little too. Okay a lot. Well not as much as my friend Nicola judges me for not having read this book but still. I really enjoyed ACOMAF but Sarah J Maas books are gigantic beasts and I can’t really fit more than one in a year, so this series has kind of gone on the backburner until I’m done with the Throne of Glass series.
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: A Court of Frost and Starlight, Catwoman
5. All The Crooked Saints-Maggie Stiefvater
I meant to read this when I got it, I really did, but as usual, I had twenty million other books to read and just totally forgot about it. It’s another one on my TBR challenge for this year, in fact it’s my read for next month, so I will be reading it very soon!
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: Shiver Trilogy, Lament & Ballad
6. Our Dark Duet-Victoria Schwab
I read This Savage Song last year and I bought Our Dark Duet quite soon after it came out but…..well I don’t really know what happened, I read a lot of other books instead and since I wasn’t overly keen on This Savage Song, it just wasn’t at the top of my list. I do want to finish off the duology and I’ve heard that the second book is better, so hopefully I will read it soon!
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: The Unbound, City of Ghosts, The Near Witch, Vengeful, Everyday Angel series (I only started reading her books last year, so I have quite a few that I haven’t read yet)
7. Midnight-Derek Landy
I’m actually relatively well caught up with Derek Landy’s stuff, I only have this one left to read, and it’s his latest release in the new stage of the Skulduggery Pleasant series so I’m not feeling so bad about this one.
8. Off The Page-Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer
I read the first book in this YA duology that Jodi Picoult wrote with her daughter years ago, but for some reason, I never got around to the second one, and I’d really like to read it, because I really enjoyed the first one.
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: Well okay, so there’s only two books that she co-wrote with her daughter and I’ve read one, but I have many, many, many of Jodi Picoult’s solo written books to read-again, she has a massive back catalogue!
9. The Kane Chronicles-Rick Riordan
I’ve actually done a pretty good job at keeping up with the mountain of books that Rick Riordan seems to release, but I kind of missed the boat on The Kane Chronicles. To be honest, I’m not that fussed about Egyptian mythology, so I don’t feel too bad about it.
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: The various Percy Jackson add on books & Magnus Chase add on books & the Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles crossovers
10. All My Secrets-Sophie McKenzie
I loved Sophie McKenzie’s books when I was a teenager, but over the past few years, I’ve kind of been missing her recent releases. On the one hand, I did love her books when I read them, but on the other hand I feel like I’ve kind of grown out of them now, so I don’t know if I will try to catch up on her latest releases (and I didn’t love her adult thrillers that much).
ALSO HAVEN’T READ: Flynn books, Luke and Eve books, SweetFreak, Here We Lie, The Black Sheep, Train Time To The Blitz, Arthur’s Sword
What books by your favourite authors haven’t you read? Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them? Let me know in the comments!
Next week’s topic is Authors I’d Love To Meet but honestly I’ve done that topic twice already, and my list hasn’t changed much since the last time I did it, so I’m going to do Characters I’d Love To Meet instead since that’s a lot easier for me! In the meantime, I’m going to try and sort out a Jo Talks post and a Writing Corner post before the end of the month, so look out for those.
Off the Page was cute. 🙂 Thunderhead is also on my top ten list this week. I can’t wait to read it. I’ll probably get the audiobook version to listen to while I work. (which I should be doing right now… oops.) Great list! Here’s my TTT.
That’s good to hear-I’m saving it for when I feel like something lighter. I hope we both enjoy Thunderhead. Thank you 🙂
I really enjoyed Thunderhead, absolutely can’t wait to see what happens in book 3.
If it makes you feel any better, I haven’t read any Schwab yet. Shhh don’t tell anyone 😉
Dani @ The Restricted Section
I’m glad to hear that! Ha ha don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret 🙂
I am only slightly behind with my SJM reading. I need to read ToD and ACoFaS. I need to giddy up on ToD, because the last book is coming out soon
I mean I’m not too bad, I feel like three books is pretty reasonable. Yeah, only a month to go!
I’m pretty new to Bardugo as well, having only started Six of crows and getting sidetracked- I’m definitely going to go back to it- and I do want to read Maas’ Catwoman!
Ha ha definitely feel that! I hope we both enjoy Catwoman 🙂
I feel like I’ve rather stopped keeping up with all of the Rick Riordan books (there are just… a lot of them?) and while I don’t really think that you can outgrow a book or series as a rule, I’ve just found I’ve been less into some of the more recent releases (wasn’t crazy about Trials of Apollo, although maybe I’ll give them and the newer stuff another shot in the future…?)
There really are! I feel the same way, at least with the last two Trials of Apollo books, I haven’t loved them as much as Heroes of Olympus and the original series. I want to finish the series, but I don’t know if I’ll continue after that.
I haven’t read Our Dark Duet yet, either. I’m caught up with all of the ACoTaR books, but I’m behind with ToG- still need to read Tower of Dawn and The Assassin’s Blade before Kingdom of Ash.
I hope we both enjoy it! Ha ha we’re the opposite way round then. I hope you enjoy both of them 🙂
I really want to read City of Ghosts. It looks like a really charming MG read.
It does!
I’m currently working through City of Ghosts and so far it’s really enjoyable! I have too many authors I want to read and I have this quirk where I like working on back catalogs in publication order soooo I have a lot to go. Like, a lot haha. I love reading though so it’s not too bad!
That’s great to hear! Oh really, I’ve never heard of someone doing that before-cool idea though! I hope you enjoy them 🙂
I thought of putting The Kane Chronicles on my list but never really felt like reading them? No idea why not 😝 ahaha I thought Midnight was the only Skulduggery book I hadn’t read but maybe there’s one before that 🤔 I don’t know, I struggle to keep up 🙄 great list!
To be honest, neither have I, but I needed a tenth for my list! Yeah I lent you the tenth one, I’m pretty sure. Thanks 🙂
Fair enough 😂 I do that too! I think so? I’ll check when I’m back, I thought I’d finished all the books you’d lent me though, better get on to that one
I do it all the time, apparently I can get to nine easily enough, but not ten. Yeah I definitely lent it to you because it’s not at home or here, so it must be with you!
I was obsessed with Sarah J. Maas series ACOTAR this summer and have now read all the books. You have something to look forward to! These are the only books I have read by her but I strongly believe I will pick up A Throne of Glass soon enough. 🙂
Well that’s always nice to hear! You definitely should, it’s great 🙂
Wait Jodi Picoult wrote a series with her daughter? Must find — thank you!
Yeah it’s a duology! No problem 🙂
Oh my gosh! I thought I was alone in some of those Leigh and SJM titles! Glad to see there’s another reader out there that’s got them on their TBR still! =) Check out our other matches here: http://bit.ly/2Q9DtPF
Ha ha no you’re definitely not!
Ha, wow, is Thunderhead really that long? o.0 I was so caught up in it that I never actually looked at the page count. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to reading it. 🙂 I haven’t read any of Victoria Schwab, but I plan on rectifying that soon. 😀 Looks like you’ve got a lot of great reads ahead!
Yeah it is! I tend to check page counts of books before I read, since length of book is something that affects my choice of read. I’m sure I will. Ah yes, you definitely should, her books are so good. Yes I do!
I haven’t read All the Crooked Saints yet, but I have it on my shelf. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!
I hope we both enjoy it when we do read it! No problem 🙂
I haven’t read Jodi Picoult’s books with her daughter. I used to read all of her solo projects and loved them. They would be good to reread.
Between The Lines is quite different to any of her adult books, but still really fun. Sounds like a plan 🙂
I loved our dark duet!
I have to say that I was (unfortunately) not a big fan of all the crooked saints 😬 but I still hope you will enjoy!
That’s good to hear. Ah that’s a shame, yeah hopefully I like it better 🙂
I love This Savage Song/Our Dark Duet, the Grisha/Six of Crows series, and the Kane Chronicles! There are a lot on your list that I haven’t read yet either (Sarah J. Maas, Scythe,etc.).
Hope you get to some of these soon. Happy reading. 🙂
That’s great to hear! Thank you 🙂
I can’t wait to read the Scythe series!! I’m hoping to hold out for the third book but we will see! Catwoman was good but I liked Wonder Woman better. Great books on this list though!
I mean you only have to wait a year, so not too bad! Well, I’m going to read both, so we’ll see whether I agree. Thanks 🙂
Yeah, true!! I hope you love them. 🙂
Me too!
I finished the first grisha trilogy this summer and I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to read Bardugo because I absolutely loved the trilogy. I need to get Six of Crows done seriously!
I hope you enjoy it! I still need to get the rest of the Grisha trilogy done, I’ve only read the first book.
Need to read Leigh Barudgo and V.E. Schwab. 🙂 Can’t wait to read them!
I hope you enjoy both their books!
It’s okay I haven’t read our Dark Duet either! Lol, BUT OMG YOU MUST READ ACOWAR!
I’m glad I’m not alone! I know, I know, it’s just so big and I don’t have the time at the moment!
I need to read Off the Page too.
And I’ve never read any Malorie Blackman. Must do something to change that! 🙂
Yeah her books are great! Hope you enjoy 🙂
Great list Wonder Woman is really good hope you enjoy it 😀💜
Thank you! I hope so too 🙂
You’re welcome 😀💜
🙂
I’m really hoping to read This Savage Song over Halloween. She’s just so prolific!
She really is!
I definitely recommend the Shiver trilogy from Stiefvater… all the crooked saints is still on my tbr too though lol
I’ll have a look and see what I think.
Wonder Woman: Warbringer is also on my list! Woman Woman is my favorite comic book here, so it’s a must read for me. 🙂
Well I hope we both enjoy it!
Absolutely!
🙂
I’m the same as you for Off the Page!! I read the first book such a long time ago now and was so excited for the sequel … but then still haven’t picked it up yet!!
I’m glad I’m not alone in that!
Good list! I’ve always wanted to read that duology by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer, but I never got around to it.
Thanks! Ah well, I hope if you do read it, you enjoy it.
Don’t be ashamed of your list–it’s a lot shorter than mine! If we were being honest, I would have had to do a Top Thousand Tuesday instead of Top Ten.
Even though I have been a fan of Victoria Schwab for a while (like I started way back with The Archived series) I still need to read Vicious, the Dark Duet series, and A Conjuring of Light. My excuse for ACOL is its MASSIVE size (and the emotional heartbreak it is bound to evoke).
Other than that, I still have to read books from Laini Taylor (Strange the Dreamer) and Rick Riordan too (I am almost done with the Percy Jackson companion novels and everything, but I can’t bring myself to close the world with the last book). But, I would HIGHLY recommend anything Magnus Chase. Magnus has all of the sass and fun that the Percy Jackson series had, and that I think was really lacking in the Kane Chronicles.
Anyway, I hope you get to some of these soon!
Ah well thank you! I do like to think I do a reasonably good job at keeping up with my favourite authors, but it is a struggle sometimes! I feel like even if you’ve been a fan of an author for a while, there’ll still be some books of theirs that you haven’t read. I totally get that about ACOL, it is huge (and yup heartbreaking). I still have to read books from Laini Taylor as well, I haven’t read the last DoSAB book or Strange The Dreamer or any of her previous books. Yup I still have the companion novels for Percy Jackson to read as well. I loved the main Magnus Chase trilogy, so will definitely try to check out the companion novels. Thank you 🙂
I haven’t read any Malorie Blackman books, but I feel like I should! I hear good things about her books. I feel really late to the Sarah J Mass party, I’ve only read one of her books, Throne of Glass, which I read a couple of months ago.
The Noughts and Crosses series is amazing. Ah that’s okay, I feel like there’s so much pressure on bloggers to get to the big things as soon as they become big, but honestly? There’s no time limit on discovering great books!
That is very true!
🙂
You’ve got a lot of good reads coming up, especially Our Dark Duet and Wonder Woman.
That’s great to hear!
All the Crooked Saints is one of my favorite Steifvater novels, I hope you enjoy it! 😊
I hope so too!
Neal Shusterman and Jodi Picoult are both on my list today. I’ve read a number of Shusterman’s (love the Skinjacker series and BRUISER!) but still have a lot to go. I’ve read the majority of Picoult’s adult books but none of the ones she wrote with her daughter. *Sigh* So many books, so little time …
Thanks for stopping by my TTT this week!
Susan
http://www.blogginboutbooks.com
They’ve both written a lot of books, it’s hard to keep up! I’ve read the Unwind series and Scythe but I still have all the rest of Shusterman’s books to go. I’ve read quite a few of Picoult’s adult books but I still have a lot of them to go as well. Ha ha tell me about it!
Omg you HAVE to finish the Grisha Trilogy! That series is fantastic! I actually didn’t love A Court of Wings and Ruin as much as I loved the first two books, but I hope you do!
I am definitely going to try and finish it before King of Scars comes out. I have heard that from people, that along with the length is why I’ve been putting it off.
Oh Thunderhead is a brilliant story, but it left me so desperate for The Toll that I am practically stalking Goodreads waiting for a release date. 🙂
I really hope you enjoy All the Crooked Saints, and all the books by V.E. Schwab you still need to get around to. 🙂 ❤️
Maybe I should save it for closer to release date then? I hope so too!
Part of me wishes I’d done that, but I just couldn’t resist starting it right away. 🙂
Totally fair!
I love the Kane Chronicles, but I feel like it doesn’t get as much love. I do think it’s not AS good at the first Percy series, but I still love it. Don’t feel back about Leigh Bardugo, I still haven’t read ANY of her books.
I just honestly haven’t felt compelled to read it? Maybe one day though. Oh I hope you do soon, they’re great 🙂
Catwoman: Soulstealer is so good! I really loved it! Hope you get to it soon. 🙂 And that you’re enjoying Throne of Glass, hah. You’re right though – her books aren’t cute, small things. They’re HUGE.
I’m going to try and read the Shiver-series by Maggie Stiefvater in October. Fingers crossed I love them so I can binge them in one go. It’s been a while since a series tempted me to do that, hah.
Awesome list! Hope you get caught up on them eventually. 😀
That’s great to hear-I probably won’t get to it this year but definitely going to try for next year. I hope you enjoy the Shiver books! Thank you-I hope so too 🙂
You have such a great list!
Thanks!
I haven’t read any Shusterman. i should.
Ah you should, his stuff is so good!
I am desperate to read V.E. Schwab (I have the “This Savage Song” duology but haven’t read it…or any of her other books!) and Leigh Bardugo (started the Grisha trilogy last year but right before my wedding so, needless to say, I was a bit distracted with planning and couldn’t focus on the world enough!).
Ah her books are so good, hope you enjoy! That’s totally understandable, hopefully now that you’re less distracted you’ll be able to finish!
I’m so intrigued by the premise of Off the Page, I hope you enjoy it!
So do I!
So many good books on this list!! A lot of them are on my TBR especially Wonder Woman and Scythe. I’m hoping to get to them before the end of the year because I have a feeling they’ll become new favourites of mine! I’ve been meaning to read a Jodi Picoult book for AGES, so I pre-ordered her new book A Spark of Light so I have no excuse to avoid her books anymore! Fingers crossed I love it so I can then read some of her more famous works 😀
Thank you! I hope you enjoy them, I obviously haven’t read Wonder Woman, but I really enjoyed Scythe, it was great. Ooh exciting, your first one-I hope you love it!
I still have yet to read a Victoria Schwab book so I feel your pain! There are so many books but I’ve heard such good things about all of them!
Happy reading!
Yeah she has a lot of them! The ones I’ve read have been so good, would def recommend the Shades of Magic trilogy first, they’re my favourites of hers. Thank you 🙂
Ooh, thanks for the recommendation! 🙂
No worries!
Oooh, I still need to read War Bringer by Bardugo as well! I’ve had it on my shelf since it came out *sigh*
Hope we both enjoy it when we finally get to it!
ACOWAR is so good, loved that conclusion! And I’m with you, I still need to read Wonder Woman!
Well that’s good to hear!
No need to feel bad we are all behind. Anyone who is always caught up on books doesn’t have enough books 😉 Several of these made my list!
Ha ha this is too true! Oh yay, I hope we both enjoy them 🙂
I want to read Wonder Woman too!! And I highly recommend all of Schwab’s books! I need to read the Archived books next! Great list. I need to read a Stiefvater book! I still haven’t. Same with Bardugo, but that’ll be rectified soon! Good luck & happy reading. Thanks for checking out my blog post!
It sound so good. I love Schwab’s books, I’ve read the Shades of Magic trilogy, Vicious, This Savage Song and The Archived: I still need to read The Unbound, City of Ghosts, Our Dark Duet, Vengeful and The Near Witch. Oh you should definitely read The Raven Cycle, it’s great. And yes, you have to read Leigh Bardugo’s books, Six of Crows is awesome. Thank you. No problem!
