Top Ten Tuesday #23

image

The topic for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is books on my fall TBR. Now I did pretty pathetically at finishing my summer TBR, I only read two books out of the ten on that list, thanks to exams and work and just life in general! Hopefully I will finish more of the books on this list! I probably won’t make it through all of these either, but I’m hoping I will finish more than two of them! Anyway, these are the books I’m planning to read this autumn:

  1. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas-Obviously! I cannot wait to read this book, it’s been so hard trying to avoid reading reviews so I don’t get spoilers, because it seems most of the blogs I follow have been posting reviews of the book! I cannot wait to see what happens to Aelin next, this is definitely the next book I’m going to read after I finish my current one.
  2. Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine-I’ve had this one since July, just haven’t read it yet, but I really want to because it sounds like a brilliant book and I’ve heard such great things about it, so I’m really excited.
  3. The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J Maas-I meant to read this over the summer, but didn’t actually get my hands on a copy until last week, so I’m definitely going to read it before the next Throne of Glass book is released (and that’s not for another year, so I have a long window!).
  4. Demon Road by Derek Landy-This is a huge book, so it may take me a while to read when I finally get to it, but I’m really excited about reading it, because it sounds like a cool story and I’m excited to see what Derek Landy has come up with post-Skulduggery Pleasant.
  5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard-Another one that I bought back in July and still haven’t got around to yet. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one, some great, some not so great, but it sounds like an interesting fantasy story, so I’m excited to read it.
  6. Graceling by Kristin Cashore-This is one of the many books that I bought at YALC, it seems like an interesting one, I love any books with magic in them and the different graces sound interesting, plus I’ve heard that the main heroine is pretty badass, which is always a winner for me!
  7. The Accident Season by Moira Fowley-Doyle-Again, I’ve heard mixed things about this book, but the idea of a family inflicted with accidents every year at around the same time and lots of people hiding secrets, seems interesting to me.
  8. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness-I’ve had this since the beginning of the year, so I really should have got to it by now, I’m determined that I will try and get to it before the end of the year.
  9. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein-Ditto for this book, I’ve had it for ages and I really should get around to it soon!
  10. Allegiant by Veronica Roth-I really do need to read this, I’ve had it for a year already and still haven’t read it! I haven’t had the motivation to read it ever since I read spoilers about the ending, but I don’t want to leave the trilogy unfinished, so my aim is to have read this before the first of the two part final movie comes out next year.

What books are you planning to read this autumn? Do you share any of the books on my list? Have you read any of the books on my list? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments!

I will be back with another Top Ten Tuesday next week (ten books you should read if you like this super popular book/author, I’m not going to let you know what book/author I have chosen until next week). Tomorrow though, I will have another Wishlist Wednesday for you all, so make sure to check that out.

5,9, and 10 are all ones I need to read.;) My aunt lent me Code Name Verity and I really need to get it read so she can have it back.;)

Queen of Shadows and Ink and Bone are on my TBR too (although I didn’t include them in my TTT because I really need to finish all of the books I own before I can allow myself to buy or borrow any more). I’ve heard great things and I am very excited for both of them. I’ve heard of the others and am considering picking some of them up too.
The Knife of Never Letting Go and The Assassin’s Blade were amazing. I wasn’t as excited by Crown of Midnight as I was with the first Throne of Glass book, but The Assassin’s Blade really brought my love for the story back.
    Great post with great books!

Yeah I understand that, although I always end up buying more books even when I have a massive TBR pile! That’s good to hear that both The Knife of Never Letting Go and The Assassin’s Blade were good. Really? I liked Crown of Midnight more than Throne of Glass, but different tastes I guess. Thanks!

I read Assassin’s Blade not that long ago, it was pretty great. It took me forever to get through Allegiant too. :/

    • iloveheartlandx 25/09/2015 / 9:04 pm

That’s good to hear! I’ve had it for over a year and still haven’t read it! I need to get to it soon!

Totally want to read Ink and Bone, too. That book sounds like it’ll be just awesome. I’ve read Graceling and I like it. Infact, the longer I’m away from it, the more fondly I think of it. (There wasn’t anything WRONG with it, it just had what I consider an ‘endless journey’ for part of the story and I dislike those.) Bonus though that the characters are great! Hope you enjoy your reading!

Yeah it does, doesn’t it? Yeah, I don’t like that much in books either, it can get irritating but it’s good to hear that you liked Graceling anyway. I hope so too! Thank you!

I forgot about Allegiant! I have yet to read it as well.

    • iloveheartlandx 25/09/2015 / 10:34 pm

I’ve had it for a year, I really need to read it soon!

I’ve heard so much about Demon Road, I’d love to get my hands on a copy. 🙂

1 & 3 are on my TBR list, too. I’ve read “Graceling” and I liked it, so I hope you enjoy it! 🙂

The Accident Season and The Knife Of Never Letting Go are two of the books I hope to read next. I picked them up just a couple days ago and they’re already calling to me from my TBR pile.

  10. Alice Rose Simmons 26/09/2015 / 11:56 am

The Accident Season is one I’m also looking forward to reading, although I forgot it when I wrote my TTT! I also need to read Code Name Verity soon before it lives on my shelf forever!

    • iloveheartlandx 26/09/2015 / 11:57 am

Yeah there are so many books I want to read that I forgot when I wrote my TTT! Yeah me too, it’s been sitting on my shelf unread for way too long!

  11. Valentina Markasović 26/09/2015 / 5:25 pm

I read the Throne of Glass books, Red Queen and Allegiant. I loved the first two, but I’m not that into Divergent series… I really want to read Graceling, too!

    • iloveheartlandx 26/09/2015 / 6:49 pm

Good to hear that you loved Red Queen! Yeah, the Divergent series isn’t my favourite either. I hope we both enjoy it!

  12. amyh90 27/09/2015 / 2:30 pm

I’ve read Allegiant and loved it! Assassins Blade is ready on my tbr list too. I hope you enjoy the books 😀 looks like some great picks!

  13. Liza @ Reading with ABC 27/09/2015 / 10:05 pm

I just finished Ink & Bone and it was amazing!! 5, 6, and 7 are all great too. I would start with Graceling for sure 😉 Good luck!

  14. Lettie 27/09/2015 / 11:53 pm

I loved Red Queen! If you love Sarah J Maas then I think you will love it too!
    Enjoy your reading!

I totally understand about unfinished TBRs. 😛 I always seem to be too, let’s say, optimistic about my reading schedule.

  16. Hannah Brown // SPW 28/09/2015 / 7:11 pm

I really enjoyed The Accident Season, I hope you do, too! I want to read the Throne of Glass series, and Allegiant also, hopefully by the end of the year but if not by the next! Red Queen, Demon Road, Code Name Verity, The Knife of Never Letting Go and Ink and Bone are also on my TBR! We seem to have much the same! Good luck to your reading!

    • iloveheartlandx 29/09/2015 / 12:35 am

Thanks, I hope so too! Yes we do seem to have a lot in common with our reading! Good luck to you too!

  17. dvasso 01/10/2015 / 2:32 am

Oh I really enjoyed Graceling, I hope you like it!

  18. Imogen Elvis 02/10/2015 / 9:40 am

The Knife of Never Letting Go is so good. I’m sure you’ll love it. I’ve been hoping to read some of Sarah J. Maas’ books for a while. I’ve heard great things of them, but I can never find them in the library.

    • iloveheartlandx 02/10/2015 / 12:01 pm

I hope so! They are brilliant, I hope you manage to find them in the library soon!

  19. BringMyBooks 13/10/2015 / 6:14 pm

Graceling! Code Name Verity!!! Oh goodness I cannot speak highly enough about both of these books! I read the entire Graceling Trilogy in a little more than a week because it was just so engrossing and incredible. Code Name Verity is one you kind of have to push through; it’s really dry and not super engaging for about the first 80ish pages or so … but then once Wein gets going you will be a total goner for sure 😉

    Happy Reading!!

    • iloveheartlandx 13/10/2015 / 8:26 pm

Glad to hear you liked both of them! I hope I like them as much!
