Wishlist Wednesday #16

As always. thank you for all your lovely comments on my Top Ten Tuesday post this week, I am still working my way through as many as I possibly can and I’ve discovered a couple of new books with bookworm characters so that’s great. Second of all, I’m back with another Wishlist Wednesday for all of you, with a book that’s been on my Goodreads TBR for a while and that I am equal parts nervous and excited for.

demon roadFull of Landy’s trademark wit, action and razor sharp dialogue, DEMON ROAD kicks off with a shocking opener and never lets up the pace in an epic road-trip across the supernatural landscape of America. Killer cars, vampires, undead serial killers: they’re all here. And the demons? Well, that’s where Amber comes in…Sixteen years old, smart and spirited, she’s just a normal American teenager until the lies are torn away and the demons reveal themselves.

Forced to go on the run, she hurtles from one threat to another, revealing a tapestry of terror woven into the very fabric of her life. Her only chance rests with her fellow travellers, who are not at all what they appear to be…

I’m really excited to read another series from Derek Landy, because I loved Skulduggery Pleasant so much and I’m sure that this series is bound to be equally brilliant, after all it has fantasy, horror, killer cars, vampires, demons, all of that screams awesome to me. However, having loved Skulduggery so much, this book fills me with a lot of nervousness, because I don’t know if it will live up and of course Skulduggery having been so brilliant leaves me with extremely high expectations for this book which is not a place I normally like to be in as it usually means I get disappointed. I’m kind of over the whole American-set YA thing though, it seems that almost all the YA books I read are set in America so it would be nice to see a different setting for a change, but that’s just a little thing and I’m sure I can get over that. Other than that, it seems like the sort of book that would be right up my street and I’m excited to see where Derek Landy goes next with his writing.

I will be back with another one of these next week but tomorrow I will have my newest Thursday Quotables post for all of you, so make sure that you check that out.
