First of all, thank you for all the lovely comments on my most recent top ten Tuesday. I think this week was my favourite one yet! Second of all, I am back, with another Wishlist Wednesday. The subject of my Wishlist Wednesday today is another upcoming release, Sarah J Maas’ Queen of Shadows, the fourth book in the Throne of Glass series. I swear I’ve been excited for this ever since I finished Heir of Fire (which okay, was only just over a month ago but still!).
Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .
She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.
Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.
I cannot wait to read this book! I feel like the last book was a game changer, Celeana accepted her position as Queen and her demi-Fae heritage, and there’s no hiding now, she’s pretty much declared war on the King, so everything should get more exciting from here on out. I’m interested to see how Celeana and Manon’s stories interconnect, and I want to see what the witches have to do with the King’s plans. I also want to see what happens to Dorian because I refuse to believe that what happened at the end of the book is it for him. He has to be rescued somehow! I feel like the stakes have been raised so much now that Celeana has made her stand and Chaol has finally made up his mind as to what side he is on (and made the right choice thank goodness), so I’m pretty sure it’s going to be full blast from here to the end of the series, and personally, I can’t wait!
I will be back with another Wishlist Wednesday next week (we are slowly but surely making our way through my goodreads TBR list!) but tomorrow I will have another Thursday Quotables for you, so be sure to check that out.
